Catch Up Classics: Criterion Edition

The Criterion Collection was the catalyst for venturing out with yet another blog for me to try to keep up with. I had toyed with the idea for awhile, having my horror edition, that I continue to work on, but was contented to have it as part of my tumblr. I’ve decided to just go with it and make it a separate beast entirely. The variety of editions that can be created are boundless. I have yet to tackle a “top movies of all time” list or “top sci-fi”, etc. At some point, maybe some classic book editions will be tackled, but consider that in some far off future. If you have any suggestions or know of some good lists out there that may be worthy of becoming an Edition, let me know.

Catch Up Classics: Horror Edition

The following excerpt and lists were taken from Cyber-Horror Elite Have Spoken: Top 50 Horror Films of All Time! and Cyber-Horror Elite Strike Again: Top 25 Horror Films of the Modern Era! As of May 18, 2010, I have seen 20 out of the 50 listed on “All Time” and faired much better with 16 of 25 on “Modern Era”. It has now become my mission to cross the rest off these lists. @drmrsthmonarch has these lists going on her tumblr, as well.

Update: (Oct. 1, 2010) My total is now 27 out of 50 on “All Time” and 17 out of 25 on “Modern Era”. Wow, I really haven’t made much progress. At 32 films left to see total, that boils down to almost one a day. I’ll try and see what I can do. No guarantees.

Further update: (Oct. 11, 2011) A year later and I still haven’t finished! WTH? There aren’t any acceptable excuses. Now, that I’ve welcomed Netflix back in my life, I really need to make this happen this month, so I can move on to another list already.
